Lot-et-Garonne

A mild climate

  • 1921 hrs of sunshine per year (2009 - Météo France)
  • Average summer day temperature: 23,6°C
  • Average sring day temperature: 18,5°C
  • Average winter day temperature: 13°C
  • Average automne day temperature: 15,7°C
  • Even though the number of golf courses might not be a coincidence, the weather is much more sunny than in Ireland! Summers are quite warm (an average of around 24° with regular picks up to 30°) and when the clouds coming from the big Atlantic get hooked by the Pyrenees there might be a good rain! But it doesn’t last long since the Atlantic climate is changeable and a rainy morning is often followed by a sunny afternoon. Local people say that the weather changes at each tide (more or less every 6 hours then). This explains the lush if not exactly tropical vegetation. The water temperature is a rather regular average of 22° in summer which is higher than many parts of the French Mediterranean. Summer nights are more restfull too than in a Mediterranean climate since they are cooler. Winter climate is mild on the coast but more extreme as the altitude rises in the Pyrenees.
