Other money matters

  • In any seasonal letting holiday makers are asked to send an up front deposit of about 30% that is partly refundable if the cancellation occurs between 30 to 15 days before the arrival date. This deposit (‘acompte’ in French) is deducted from the 1st rent and guarantee the safety of your bookings.
  • The general practice is that the rent is paid at the start of each month. In return the landlord must provide the tenant a proof of payment (called ‘quittance de loyer’ in French. You can download free models from official websites such as the Agence Nationale pour l’Information sur le Logement.
